Today was one of the saddest days of my life.
Today I am saying goodbye to the program that helped me through my life as a teen for the past 6 years. I've learned to speak, lead, and learned to make friends - that wouldn't be possible without Youth and Government. (READ: How Youth and Government Changed my Life)
This year was my last year and it was the overall best. I've made even more friends, had a lot of fun, and found out I'm going to prom!
This program is the best I've gone through. I'm so grateful for the person who practically forced me to go in 7th grade - Mr. Jay. Without him, I wouldn't have gone. I would have rather stayed home. But I'm glad he did push me because that man gave me my voice and my life, made me find who I am. I wouldn't have gone to Cona without him, or prom, or gotten a job.
To all Kaimuki Y teens, make me proud! I left the foundation - just build from there.
I'd like to thank everyone and the people I met through Youth and Government. I wouldn't be myself without you.
