It has been an experience of a lifetime to serve the community as a YMCA of Honolulu employee for the the past ten years. Having been a complete newcomer to the Y, no one is more surprised than I am to have lasted this long! What is not surprising however, is that the organization has flourished for a full 150 years and shows no sign of slowing down. Anyone who sets foot through our doors on any given day would understand what I mean. There’s a constant flurry of activity by vibrant people from all walks of life. You can feel the energy through their conversation, music, and laughter. It’s tricky to condense the last decade into a single letter so here’s what I’ve been feeling recently: (click "Read More") Grateful
… to have worked under tremendous leadership who are extraordinarily capable, who genuinely care, and who are grounded in strong values. Mindful … of what I’ve learned from both successes but especially mistakes. Optimistic … about the future of our Kaimuki-Waialae branch and of the new triumphs my colleagues will inevitably experience. Blessed … to have spent the last 10 years working, laughing, and learning alongside this exceptional YMCA Ohana: colleagues, volunteers, community partners, and Y members. Before I began working at the Kaimuki branch, I was a parent, donor, and volunteer. After hanging up the employee hat, I will proudly remain connected in those very same capacities. So, see you at the Y and thank you for being part of this special place. With Aloha, Tony Yee

Tony, it has been an honor to work with you the last 6 years. 5 years as a Group X Instructor and adding me on the Front Desk this 6th year. We (Kennie and I) Thank you for all you've done for us. We wish you all the best on your new journey!
